Goalkeeper Academy FAQ
Here under you can find some answers to the most common questions. In case your question is not in the list, please feel welcome to send an email to sebastiano@sfglenssc.org .
Q: When will I know to what group my son/daughter is assigned for Spring 24 Goalkeeper training? when will I know the time and location of practice(s)? Once all participants are confirmed (February 23rd), we will finalize the roster of the GK groups and communicate the information within about one week. Parents and players will have another week to confirm the registration. Practices for the Spring 24 program will start on the week of March 11th. The exact day of the week is different for each group. Q: What is the structure of the Spring 24 Goalkeeper Academy program? The Spring Season team practices start in February with some adjustments for those players who are playing High School soccer. For the first 2 weeks, each goalkeeper practices with his/her respective team. We are looking into organizing some additional athletic training for GKs to refresh mobility and explosiveness. The formal Goalkeeper Academy season program kicks off in the week of March 11th and ends on Friday May 10th. Q: What is the cost of the program? There is a $150 charge for the Goalkeeper Academy regular season program to cover for field rental and coaches. Q: Can you tell me more about SF Glens' Goalkeeper Academy jersey? We require SF Glens' Goalkeeper Academy to wear branded jerseys. Working with our official equipment supplier, we found a great price/quality option and the ability to customize the jerseys. Players will be requested to wear the jersey at practice. The jersey can also be used for games. Q: Is the program open to non-SF Glens' players? Our program offers Season Training and Clinics. The Season Training is intended for SF Glens' registered players. We are open to accepting other players only when spots become available. Clinics are generally open to non-SF Glens players. SF Glens club members have priority and lower fees. If you know of a player who wants to try-out for SF Glens, please send an email to sebastiano@sfglenssc.org . We will be happy to offer a time for an evaluation. Please be aware that there are League rules we need to respect, and that may limit what we can and cannot do with non-SF Glens players.
